Did you know that more than 4 percent of Turkmenistan's land mass is made up of protected natural lands and sanctuaries? And with Turkmenistan being the 52nd largest country in the world, that means an incredible 7,625 square miles of Turkmenistan has been cordoned off as protected, preserved, untouched lands. Turkmenistan is also home to three UNESCO world heritage sites, as well as incredible deserts, mountain ranges, coastlines, and historic cities. Speaking of historic cities, Turkmenistan is home to Merv, the oldest and best-preserved oasis-city in Central Asia. Merv used to be a major thoroughfare along the Silk Road, the ancient Chinese and European trade route. Inspired by the history and the preserved nature of Turkmenistan, Anderson Design Group rendered vintage travel poster art of the city, capturing in retro styles some of the mid-20th century architectural influences and monuments that Turkmenistan is known for. Available as a poster, print, canvas, banner, or metal sign, this artwork looks great on any wall. To learn more about Turkmenistan, visit the website for the Turkmenistan Tourism Committee.
