Theodore Roosevelt National Park has historical significance in addition to being a fantastic wilderness. The region was visited by Theodore Roosevelt himself in 1883. His visit to the park helped lead to his initiative to create five national parks during his presidency, an effort which at that time doubled the total number of national parks in the U.S. The park is famously known for its unique geological formations called “hoodoos.” Lovers of both history and the American National Parks, our illustrators at Anderson Design Group insisted on hand-illustrating this vintage poster art to add to our National Parks Poster Series. This illustration was crafted in the art styles of the early-1900s, the same time period when this park was first designated.
