If you’re looking for an exciting read, this is it! “The Call of Cthulhu” is a short story by American writer H. P. Lovecraft. The story was written in the summer of 1926 and first published in the pulp magazine “Weird Tales” in February 1928. Many know the basic premise of the fiction work, a depiction of a cult that worships Cthulhu, a monstrous beast that is part human, octopus, and dragon. But what many don’t know is how much the story influenced writers and thinkers of the 20th century. In fact, much of the mid-20th century sci-fi and fantasy work was inspired by this epic tale from the 1920s. To celebrate a classic monster story that rivals Dracula and The Wolfman for fame and glory, the artists of Anderson Design Group rendered this classic book cover and vintage poster design as a part of the Literary Classics Collection, celebrating great books of all genres in poster art and original illustration.
