Aptly called the Great Lakes State and home to more freshwater coastline than any other state in the U.S., Michigan is the apple of the eye for visitors, tourists, and travelers. This state is an incredible wonderland of beaches and pristine waters. Michigan is also known for being the birthplace of the automotive industry. Michigan earns recognition each year for offering incredible vacation opportunities in all four seasons. The population of Michigan increases notably during the summer, as many residents of the southern states own seasonal cabins and lake houses in this summertime wonderland.
