Did you know that you can see bison… in Missouri?! Yes, the popular Prairie State Park is a public recreation area encompassing nearly 4,000 acres of untouched grasslands and woodlands in Barton County, Missouri. The park was dedicated in 1980 as a larger effort to preserve some of America’s remaining prairie lands, and to prevent them from being lost forever due to development (Just 1% of Missouri’s pre-Industrial Age grasslands remain, much of it located in this park). The park features hiking trails, camping for backpackers, and a nature center. Visitors enjoy panoramic vistas of swaying grass and ever-changing wildflowers. They also may spot the park’s resident bison herd, pictured in this original illustration. To celebrate this iconic American landmark, the artists of Anderson Design Group have made a classic design and original poster art and travel art ready for you to enjoy as a poster, canvas, metal sign, postcard, or note card.
