Mount Rainier is majesty incarnate, a huge stratovolcano that rises abruptly from the coastlands of the Pacific Northwest. Mount Rainier National Park was created in 1899 as the fifth national park, designated to protect the mountain and surrounding ecosystems. The park includes the active volcano itself, several glaciers, five major rivers, wildflower meadows and valleys, and several ancient, old-growth forests which coat the arms of the mighty mountain. Anderson Design Group hand-illustrated this national parks travel poster to commemorate the park, creating an original design that displays the stateliness of Mount Rainer.
